 James has worked hard, well and reliably for us in a demanding environment and I do not hesitate to recommend him to any prospective client.

One particular task comes to mind. Not large but a tough bill to fill. An 80 year old plaster on lathe vestibule that needed repairs, matching hand textured swirl surface and the painted finish had to blend with a contiguous older painted area. To my amazement the Superintendent couple (famously fussy) took the trouble to call me and tell me what a wonderful finished product James had produced and, by the way, what a great guy he was.

During his work with us he was in and out of many residences. Throughout that period we received no complaints, no suggestion that something was marked, damaged, inappropriately moved or thought to be missing. Nothing negative at all!

Hi neighbours!

We recently had the exterior of our home painted by James Gallanders of JG Paints (http://jgpaints.com) and wanted to share some quick thoughts on our experience.
- James was quick to respond to my initial email and to my follow up questions, his answers were thorough.
- His quote was REMARKABLY lower than other quotes that we received.
- He worked around our crazy schedule and was very flexible and accommodating.
- His painting was accurate, clean, polished and exactly what we had hoped for.
- He was tidy, professional and very personable and friendly.
- He was FAST...and again, very accurate with his painting.
- He offered to return if we needed any touch-ups, but the work was stellar so no touch-ups required.
We are planning on contracting James again this fall to paint the interior of our home.

"My husband and I employed James Gallanders as a painter for approximately five days between September 9th and 18th, 2009. We discovered Mr. Gallanders’ advertisement through the Whitby Shores Community online forum. Mr. Gallanders came by to give us an estimate within two days, despite the fact that he was technically taking holidays that week for his Honeymoon. We received painting quotes from two additional painters that week and ultimately hired James for the job.

Our initial impression of Mr. Gallanders was that he was a very friendly, easy-going individual who truly loves what he does. We came to find out that James is also an actor, but that he chooses to do painting on the side because he enjoys the work. James readily supplied several references. Each reference had nothing but positive things to say about him.

Mr. Gallanders’ quote for the work to be done was quite a bit less than the other quotes we received. We felt that we were being over-quoted by the other painting companies, and that James’ estimate for the work was very fair. James quoted us a daily rate and gave an estimate of how many days the work would take. We felt comfortable with this and trusted his estimate. We also did not hesitate to lend James a key to our home for the duration of the job.

James arrived promptly for work in the morning and worked a full 8- or 9-hour day. After the first day of interior painting, we were blown away with the speed at which he painted and the quality of his work. He showed great attention to detail and was very tidy. The job was completed in the estimated time and we were very happy with the end results.

We have recommended Mr. Gallanders to many friends who have since hired him for various painting jobs. They were all similarly impressed with the speed and precision of hiswork, as well as his friendly and professional demeanor. We would hire James again and will continue to recommend him to our friends and family."
